AuralWise is built so that we never see your data at all. This policy covers AuralWise on iPhone, and on Android (coming soon to Google Play), and it is short because there is almost nothing to disclose.
Nothing about you personally. AuralWise has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, and no advertising, on either platform. We do not operate any server that receives your data. On Android, the app does contain Google's Play Billing library, described below under "Google Play Billing on Android": it is not an analytics or advertising SDK, and it never sees your practice history, streak, or progress.
Your practice history, streak, and progress are stored on your device. On iPhone, if iCloud is available, your data may also be stored in your personal, private iCloud database, encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. On Android, your data stays on the phone in a local database with no cloud sync of our own, and if Android's own backup is turned on it is included in your Google account backup, encrypted by Google. We have no access to any of it, on either platform.
AuralWise plays audio only, on iPhone and Android. It does not use the microphone, the camera, or your photo library, on either platform, and it requests no runtime permissions to work. On Android, an optional home-screen streak widget shows your practice history read entirely from your own device; adding it needs no extra permission either.
The Android app requests exactly one runtime-adjacent permission: internet access, used only so Google Play Billing can talk to Google's own servers to process your Pro purchase. AuralWise itself makes no network call of its own. The installed app also declares a small number of permissions used by background library code it does not actually exercise (wake lock, boot-complete, foreground service), pulled in automatically by the on-device widget framework the home-screen widget is built on; AuralWise arms no alarms, runs no foreground service, and does nothing when your phone boots.
On Android, AuralWise contains no analytics or advertising SDKs. It does contain Google Play's billing library, which Google Play requires for in-app purchases. That library lets Google Play process and restore your Pro purchase, and it also sends Google technical diagnostics about those purchase connections, such as whether a request to Google Play succeeded, so Google can keep its billing service working. Google handles this under Google's own privacy policy, and it never includes your practice history, streak, or progress.
The optional one-time AuralWise Pro unlock has no subscription, the same on both platforms. On iPhone, it is processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. On Android, it is processed entirely by Google Play through your Google Play account. We receive no payment details on either platform.
You can erase your practice history and reset progress at any time from Settings. On iPhone, deleting the app removes it locally; also remove AuralWise data from iCloud in iOS Settings to clear the synced copy. On Android, uninstalling the app deletes its local data immediately, unless you later reinstall and restore it from your own Google account backup.
AuralWise is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, including children, on either platform.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
